Mrs Kalpana garu recalled the “social entitlements” that are provided by the Government, based on the category and these will support the single women at large. She also discussed on the various schemes & programs meant for women & single women, provided by the government like pensions, loans on subsidy, vocational & skill development trainings, shelter homes, etc,. Women should become aware of various support from the Government and make use of that and lead their own life positively.
While talking about women agriculture labourers in rural, are still in poverty and the illiteracy & ignorance are the reasons for their backwardness. Apart from that, the daily wages are not throughout the month and due to mechanization, engaging daily wage workers has come down in the villages. Women should plan themselves to face such challenges and make utilise of NREGS, which helps them to some extent. This is an example for the women, but there are many issues faced by the women like malnutrition, ill health, unable to provide good education, not having own house, no agricultural land and others. All these factors make the women, particularly single women to lead a unhappy life and the solution is getting knowledge on Government schemes, like for children education, there are good residential hostels are there, then make use of ICDS for nutrition, Health department for health, Subsidized loans for livelihoods and so on.
She continued that, above all, women should have courage & self confidence along with minimum education. We must improve our skills & knowledge to increase the income and thus solve all the issues mentioned earlier. She asked them to provide necessary education to their children for ensuring their bright future and she advised them not to lose their courage and to take decision wisely.
